Göbekli Tepe is a Neolithic archaeological site near the city of Şanlıurfa in Southeastern Anatolia, Turkey. It is considered to be the earliest human-made site of worship yet discovered. It’s oldest layer dates to around 9000 BCE.
The American philosopher William James considered organized religion to be distinct from and secondary to religion in and of itself. This book imagines a world at the end of 11000 years of organised religion - no perfect world, but a world with a new kind of worship in the ruins of the old kind of worship.
